Is every English grammar topic that we learned in school really important?

This is the language that is widely used throughout the world, not just in countries traditionally considered English speaking countries. When wanting to master this language, an important question arises - how important is English grammar as taught, and most likely we have also learned, in school?
When we speak and think in English do we really think about present simple or phrasal verbs? Do we really need to know all the simple sentences or the third conditional rules?

Grammar and Expression

The grammar rules of each language are not cast in the rock. From time to time, changes in every language apply, and the English language is no exception in this regard. If so, can we conclude that grammar is not important? Not at all. Imagine what you would sound like if you had to make a speech in front of the British MPs. How would you sound without good or at least reasonable control of grammar? And even if we do not select an example of such a rare situation and describe a situation in which an English job interview is held, is it possible to make a successful impression when the speaker does not sound eloquent and when he makes embarrassing grammar mistakes?

Without the learning of grammar, neither expressiveness nor proper conversational ability can be expected. Grammar should be studied well, but it should not be treated separately from the mastery of spoken language through vocabulary. Proper vocabulary is the result of ongoing practice. You need to read books or at least English newspapers (there are newspapers for all levels) or join a spoken English course . Only the integration of grammar learning with practice through reading, conversation, and listening will result in internalization. After all, only when the rules become second nature can one think, formulate and manifest without error.

Make a strong language corps

Without learning a technical aspect of grammar rules, no understanding of rules and exceptions, extensive vocabulary may not suffice. But there is clearly a connection between the need for language and the level of knowledge required. Those who travel for a short visit to the United States, Australia or the United Kingdom and who do not use the English language for academic or research purposes can also get along with spoken English without paying any attention to the English language grammar. For those who plan to live or work abroad, those who want to succeed in an academic career (also in the country), for those who want to make a living in senior or representative positions - mastery of high-level grammar is absolutely important. Is this aspect more important than spoken English? Not necessarily, and definitely not always.

In summary, for the purposes of speaking and writing, expressing and expressing (less so - for reading purposes), good command of English grammar rules is necessary, but learning the rules alone is insufficient. Only practice and diligence, just having a conversation, reading and writing will make your knowledge of grammar and language rules truly natural.
